Default Air Strut Repair

I have had good success considerably extending the life of leaking strut air bags on LS400 air struts by injecting about 30 cc of Stan's Tire Sealant, www.notubes.com, through the airline fill port. Just be careful to inject the sealant fully into the core airspace of the strut using a syringe and needle, long plastic catheter even better. Getting any of the sealant in to airline could cause problems.

So you just disconnect the air line and inject the stuff into the hole in the strut? Wouldnt it just run down the inside of the air bag? How would it seal if you have a tear near the top?

Default Location of Sealant

Reinforced rubber products most commonly develop leaks within the portion which is moved and stretched most frequently.

For inflated air bag struts, this is the portion which rolls with each up and down movement of the strut, thus at the bottom.

I believe the answer to your question/comment is self-evident.
