GX; How did you know exactly where to drill? 3/4" is pretty big, good thing you didn't drill into anything important, the wires or the cable could have got caught, spun, and snapped. Some times it's cheaper to take the more expensive route and not take a chance.

Cheapest and fastest? Just to yank the chain, how long did it take to retrieve the drill and bit, come back to drill the car?

Locksmith would have probably been there in under an hour, popped the door in a few moments and you'd be swiping your C-card for ~$100 no damage. I hope you'll get a spare set of keys now.

I FIXED MY PROBLEM. I HAD TO REMOVE THE REAR LICENSE PLATE AND DRILL A 3/4" HOLE IN THE MIDDLE. THAT WILL GET YOU ACCESS TO THE LOCK CABLE WHICH UNLOCKED THE TRUNK. CHEAPEST FASTEST WAY. I WILL PUT A RUBBER GROMMET AND EVERYTHING WILL BE AS BEFORE MAYBE EVEN BETTER BECAUSE NOW THE LICENSE PLATE WON'T EVER VIBRATE DUE TO THE RUBBER GROMMET!


i just wanted to say that i locked the key in the trunk while taking out the spare tire at home in my own garage. I also dont wan't to take any credit for drilling a hole in the the trunk because i found all information on how to do it from another member on another site forum.

That's what the sniper did in DC a few years back. They did the exact same thing and were shooting out the trunk. My daughter had a feild trip down that area so I wouldn't let her go. They killed alot of people before they got caught.
