Default Traction control in dry weather

I was wondering, does turning the traction control on/off in dry weather make any difference in performance/economy? I don't know how much of an effect it has on how the engine runs, but would i be better off driving around without it on or does it not matter either way?

It only cuts in when one of the back wheels starts to spin. Which is almost never on dry roads (unless you drive like my wife does).
