I don't think I ever heard of a knock sensor going bad on an LS so check the wiring first, there might be a short somewhere. Just a heads up but, IF, for some reason you do have to change the knock sensor, or pull it to test it, you should rebuild your starter while you're in there. It's a major job, the starters are known to go bad, and you'll already be in there with the intake manifold off.
