Default April Adventures in the Lex - Sucks to Roll Hard!

Been driving very low cars daily for years now. Never given me any real issue.

A few weeks back, I let my brother borrow my car for the day while his car was getting work done.

Mid afternoon a get text with a picture of what looks like my oil pan torn open. Failed to believe so.

This is what I saw when I got home:

Raised man-hole on a hill caught pan and ripped it open, cracking the block up the side of the motor. Bent inner tie rod, torn tension rod mount, bent driver side exhaust, broke engine and tranny mounts.

Oh joy.

Bro took care of cost and I got it fixed ASAP. $500 motor from local wrecker yard with 130k on the motor. Mounts from RockAuto.com. A special thanks to my buddies David and Josh at NSPerformance for getting the car swapped in 5 days flat. New mounts, timing kit, fan pulley bracket, fixed PS leak, fixed suspension, recharged AC. Great work.

All done!

The duct tape is my doing lol.

A little interior love. Not too bad for 264k.

I also had my local exhaust shop take care of the exhaust. Raised the cat flanges, kept stock y-pipe, 2.25" from y-pipe to stock mufflers. So much more clearance under the car. No pics yet.

And Ms.Thang, all cleaned up at Wrong Fitment Crew car meet in Charlotte, NC.

That's all!

damnn i need to make a oil pan skid plate and UCA clearance holes like you have. That front fitment is sweeet, and the fender roll looks super smooth

I try. $1000 Craigslist car, misaligned front end due to damage by previous owner, miscolored paint........ I figure the duct tape is fitting.

And its silver. It's kinda shiny, ya know? Adds luster.

Damn, that's sick, it must have been a hard hit. That's why I keep mine at stock height. Well that,.... and no money. This is why I don't let anyone drive my car. At least he stepped up and took responsibility and paid up quick. Shows some class. Glad ya got it back on the road, and, every car should have a little duct tape.

oh my god that is so funny, it must have made such a cool sound when that happen. If I was driving by and saw that I would have laughed my *** off. Although it wouldn't be funny if it was my ls, but something about a low rider getting ripped apart is funny to me.

almost as classy as seeing a lowrider. I can understand with a performance car they need to be low to handle, but I think it is silly to see a soft luxo-cruiser lowered. I mean its your money, spend it how you want and on what you like, but in my opinion its just funny and they look silly to me. low rough riding totally ruins what the ls is. just looks gheto to me to see a 430 low rider. no class at all.
