What Detergent do you use for Oil and/or Gas?
So after reading the responses from the oil thread I started, I'm convinced to go with Mobil 1. And as soon as I use all of my regular Mobil oil, I'm switching.
On to detergents. I've seen a couple threads on this board raving about certain detergents but no real comparisons or reports of major problems. I'd like to know what kind of detergent everyone's been using, be it in the oil, gas or whatever. If you use detergent in the oil please note the brand and viscosity of the oil. Tell me whether you've had good or bad experiences and how long and how often you've been using the detergent. Let's build up a good thread here as a resource to everyone.
I myself have just started trying Marvel Miracle Oil. I put it in the gas and in the oil (Mobil non-synthetic 10W-40). I've only used the recommended amount in one out of two tanks of gas. After doing this I noticed a significant drop in gas milage. I haven't calculated it out yet but I'm thinking it could be as low as 12 MPG. Before, I was getting at least 15 or 16 MPG. It might have something to do with changing the fuel filter. I'm pretty D**N sure it's not leaking. I've checked it like 20 times. I'm gonna clean and reoil my K&N drop-in filter and see if that helps but that's for another thread. Tell me your experiences and feelings about detergents.

Every other oil change I throw in some Chevron Techron
fuel system cleaner in the gas tank. I don't use anything for
the oil. As long as you change oil every 3,000 to 4,000 you
shouldn't need anything, especially in our cars.

That can't be Good! I just put in Castrol Syntec ( No Additional Detergent) Motor seems to have a feeling of less internal friction. This may be purely wishful thinking on my part but, it does seem to rev a little easier, according to my "Seat of the Pants-o-meter."
In all of my cars, the tank that I put additive in get's less gas mileage, not sure if it's because I just drive a little friskier on that tank full. I figure you have to, in order to scrub those little injectors clean, Right?
