"93 front speakers crossover
nakamichi system. front speakers dead. no static-like sound as in a intermittent connection, just dead. i searched the audio setup thtread and founf no answer to my question. does this sound like the circuit board of the crossover is the culprit rather than the speakers themselves? if so, can they be fixed? anyone know who does these?
also considering just putting in 4" coaxials, given that my high frequency hearing is about gone. anyone have a preference between the boston acoustic sr45's and the polk 401s or 501s?

Hey, I'm in Denver also....
Amp would be a good place to start, but it's not necessarily the amp. I blew two JL speakers in my BMW once, and it was the same situation. No sound at all. Amps powered on just fine. That was an aftermarket system though, your unlikely to blow the stock speakers using the stock amp.
I replaced the speakers and all was well again. Should be pretty easy to check the speakers too, either visually for damage or by checking with a multimeter.
