There is absolutely no reason to pay that kind of money for rotors. They are all just slags of steel... get the $30 ones at your local auto parts store and it will give you identical performance.

I have a pair of the brembos on the front of my car but i bought them years and years ago for ~$45-60/each and they've served me well.

on the flip side, i've had good experiences with the R1 e-line as well (non-drilled, blank and slotted only). They are a solid rotor since R1Concepts uses Centric blanks

Ask the guy that was comparing rotors on the Volvo forum, telling me that the more expensive rotors weren't cheap China crap, so he bought Centrics (at $85 each)... which ended up being made in China and just like all the other slags of machined steel. With rotors, you're paying for name, which is just silly.

OEM from Toyota. The original rotors on our barge now have 157K miles and 2 turnings. If you guys are going through pads and rotors, you are driving the car harder than I am and or using a more abrasive pad compound. My guy said at the last brake job, 180-200K is possible in our case.

was about to say the same thing, these cars aren't meant for driving hard. they're for a smooth ride which all you really need are oem ones. but if you want to pay more for something go right ahead.

Another vote here for R1. Had my slotted rotors (just fronts) on for about a year now, with no problems at all (they're coupled with EBC RedStuff pads).

I'd been talking with the mechanic about the rotors, he relayed many of these guys are to aggressive when turning them. Hence the short lifespan. Unless the rotor is completely warped, a light pass is sufficient. The OEM ceramic pad is no dust, easy on rotors, good stopping, in his opinion. After reading you guys running EBC, etc... I was considering more aggressive. He didn't see the sportier pads offering improved braking but would give increased rotor wear.

YMMV obviously.
