light vibration feel in motor when accelerating
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a 98 LS400 with 218000. The car has been well taken care of and drives very smooth (2 owners, both over 50). There has been a light vibration feel when I accelerate on the gas. Even in Park or nuetral you can feel it when you revv the engine. My buddy even noticed it when he drove it. At first I thought it was normal because of the drive by wire throttle being the first year of that. Anyway, it really drives me nutts even though you can only feel it slightly when you hit that gas. When you hit your top speed when your driving you dont feel it all. Only this light vibration feel when you hit the gas. I am thinking it could be the motor mounts with that many miles. From what I read I should replace the two on the motor and the third one on the transmission. Has anyone had a similar issue or give any suggestions? Also, what is a engine vibration damper do? Maybe that could be the cause? Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you...

Checking your motor and transmission mounts would be a good place to start.
Get some one to rev the engine whilst you look under the hood,if the engine moves excessively it may be worn mounts as these engines are ultra smooth normally.
