Actually there are 3 coolant sensors. The one you are asking about is the coolant sensor that works the gauge on the dash, it has one wire in the plug.

Sorry to bump this one but there is a Sensor a little to the Right of the ECT. i understand there are 3 Sensors but how do i ask for the one Next to it? Its a Gray Connector.. are they both the same Part #?

It would be cool if they were the same but i would be cool if i got the name of it??

Maybe next time you could put the big red arrow onto the right sensor?

The only sensors in that area, that I remember, are the 2 that are shown in the pic. I even looked through my whole manual b/c this was bugging me. (nothing better to do) The one with the gray connector is the one the original poster asked about, which is already disconnected. But anyway, it's called the "ECT gauge sender", that one controls the temp gauge on the dash. And just for further reference the sensor on the bottom of the radiator is called the "ECT switch", that one controls the fans. I hope that clears it up for anyone in the future about the "3" ECT's. They should have different names so people don't confuse them but they all deal with the "Engine Coolant Temperature".
ECT sensor
ECT gauge sender
ECT switch

I might take a pic Later today.. but there is the Brass Single Cable Sensor Above the Green Connector Like in the pic, The ECT that is the Green Connector, and Just to the Right of that one is a Gray Connector with another sensor.. i Searched on Alldata and Came up with the "Start Injector Time Switch"

I Have no clue if this is correct or what..

I guess there's a sensor I didn't remember seeing there. This is copied from an article at Lextreme;
"The V8 is fitted with a cold start injector that is operated by a thermostatic start injector time switch when the coolant temperature is less than 22 degrees Celsius."
