93 LS do have AC filter
Hi to all,
I make several calls to a few Lexus dealers and was told that 93 LS do have an AC filter. This filter does need to be replaced perodically. In fact, when I check my 93 owner manual, AC filter is listed as one of the items for maintenance. A couple dealers (service advisors) gave me the wrong location of the filter (behind the glove box) but finaly one knowledgeable guy told me that the filter is near the blower, BELOW and to the LEFT of the glove box (just above the passenger foot rest area). He told me that, to access and change the filter, I will have to remove the cover panel below the glove box then unscrew two butterfly type fasteners. My problem now is how to remove this panel? I can't take this panel off and I think I may break it if I pull too hard (he said that there is no screw to hold it up). The filter itsef cost about $50 something. If someone knows how to pop this cover off, please give me a detail procedure. Thanks.

Sorry I can't give you a detailed example, but the lower panel can be popped off with a flathead screw driver. There are just a couple of retaining clips for this. Above that, there are a couple bolts which hold the glove box cover off.
I know this for sure on my 90 LS, but I know the glovebox position was moved in 93 for the passenger airbag.
