Default Steering issue

Hey good ppls, i have a quick question. for some reason my steering is sticking. one second it's a little loose, and then it's tight. i checked my power steering fluid and it isnt low. i don't know whats going on. it just started doing it about 2 days ago. if anyone has had this problem b4 plz shed some light for me. thx

Have you cleaned the steering solenoid screen? There are tutorials on this under the sticky as well as on lexls.com

Mine had those symptoms after we did some machine work to the pump and didn't do a thorough enough cleaning before re-installing. The result was very very fine particles were jamming the pressure valve. As Jim said your fluid/screens may need cleaned up as some particles are jamming either the screens or the pressure valve.

ok guys, thank you. i'm going to check it now while it's pretty fair weather right now. i went and bought some lucas ps conditioner but wasnt sure if i was spposed to empty th old ps fluid or just add the conditioner to what was already there. i knew i could count on the great folks on this site!! thanx alot. i'll keep you posted.

I wouldn't count on the Lucas doing anything but making your steering stiffer - the system wants ATF and PS fluid or conditioners dramatically increase steering effort. The real choice is to flush the fluid/cleaning the screens.
