Default key problem

hi im new to the club i have just got a nice ls400 but it had a dead battery so i replaced it but now the buttons on the remote dont work i can unlock and start it with the key i have been told you have to reprogram the key by locking and unlocking the doors a curtain amount of times anybody have the info thanks

Hello your LS440 may be nice but to help the year is needed,the link below may help if yours is a post Oct 1994 model.

I'm not entirely sure what year(s) they had/didn't have this feature, but somewhere right in front of your knee (not sure if left or right) theres this little switch that enables/disables the functionality of the unlock/lock. But like I said, I have no idea how many or which years they did this, but I do have it on my '90. Kind of a silly feature, you always end up bumping it, getting out, and then pushing your lock button in futility.
