1992 Lexus LS 400 y pipe
My car started sounding rough, loud exhaust near the drivers side. I took it to a shop and the mechanic showed me where the flanges were rusted out causing it to leak, he said I needed a new y pipe replaced. I ask him about welding them and he said it was too close to the oxygen sensors. He quoted me a price for the y pipe at $600.00 plus labor. Can I order one myself cheaper any place and if so where is a good site. I have noticed it is using more gas. Any help appreciated.

Rockauto has the Y pipe for $244.89... BOSAL Part # 099127
You'll need the two gaskets at the cats and the one where it connects to the muffler. Plus six bolts, nuts, locks...

i just got a y pipe for my es from eBay for like $125 and took me literally 20 mins to jack it up and change it. of course the ls will be diff but you should be able to get by less expensive than quoted.
