Aftermarket head units- post your pics!
My dash is PERFECT, but my Nakamichi isn't working so well. I'm soooo torn between troubleshooting/fixing it or replacing it with aftermarket. Show me how your aftermarket installs look up close!
I have what I believe to be two separate problems with my stock system.
1) Radio tuning doesn't work so well- buttons stick, sticks on one station, intermittent but tempermental. Definitely head unit I'd say. (duh)
2) no audio right side of car AT ALL. Turn balance to right, and you get silence. Not sure if it's in the amp or the head unit at this point...
Thanks!

My problems on my 93 LS are with the CD Player skipping making static and not reading CD's. Besides that I hate the sound of the OEM Nakamichi system, I have the midrange turned right down and still find it a noisy sound not crisp clear & dynamic. In two weeks I'm installing the following:
Here's the aftermarket kithttp://www.installer.com/item/displa...php?it=99-8156 it holds the deck and provides a storage bin below.
And the head unit which I got for $99 regular $229
We're replacing the door speakers with Infinity reference 6.5 components in front and 6.5 in rear with 10" MTX sub in vented box in trunk. Plus 3 amps putting out 1,000 watts RMS, 2,000 peak.
Don;t really care about what the head unit looks like I'm just going for overall sound quality. Got all of the above including installation at over 40% off due to boxing day sales
Can't wait - been about 17 years since I've had a nice crisp clear system with a nice thump and beautiful vocals/front stage - gonna make me happy
