Default replaced alternator, power steering leak ls400

I just had a garage replace my alternator on my90 ls400. They said because it was saturaded with power steering fluid. I have no drops on the ground nor i have added any fluid to the unit in over a year. I don`t see any leaks.

any idea?

The PS hoses and reservoir are right above the alternator and they seep when they get old. 20 years makes the cut. I haven't looked closely at how the pump is mounted on the 1UZFE so it could be a leak at the joint between the pump housing & block, but the hoses definitely get old & leak over time. That's a relatively cheap & easy fix; I think I saw that they're just fixed in place with spring clamps, so you should be fine replacing them with similar lengths of generic pressure hose from any parts store. Also replace the hose clamps while you're at it, being careful not to over-tighten the house around any plastic necks (not sure if there are any in this system).

LS400boy is right, there is an underscuttle under the engine bay so unless yours has fallen off, you won't see the effects of a slow leak.

Note that you should repair the leak soon, or you'll just end up replacing another oil-soaked alternator in a few weeks/months.
