Default Weird issue with heater...96LS...

Hello all. I'm having a slight problem with the heater in my 96LS. It has 192k miles on it and has never given me a single problem. The timing belt and water pump was changer a little over a month ago.

Here is my issue with the car:

I can go out in the morning and crank the car to warm it up. However, even after 15 minutes the car's heater will not be hot. The car will be fully up to temp, but the air is only room temp(60-70). However, when i start driving the car the heater gets hot almost instantly, but when i stop at a stoplight it goes back to room temp, as soon as i pull away...back to hot. It repeats this the entire time the car is running.

I am not getting any error codes and the car is running great.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kyle

air bubble methinks.

if you stand in one place and rev the engine, does it turn hot?

Yes it will. Think maybe I should burp the coolant?

yep. if it's really stuck in there you may have to jack the nose of the car up a bit.

or just bleed through the port on the top of the motor lol.

Mine had this same exact issue - and checked the coolant last night and sure enough I had air bubbles. problem solved, this morning it was nice and toasty after warming up for ten minutes!
