Default 1992 lexus 400 wont change gears maybe? lol

lexus ls 400 1992. I bought the car knowing they replaced the catalytic converter with a smaller one, No biggie car worked fine. only issue was if you drove over 70 the car would jerk a little, now 5 months later, sometimes when im driving it semms like it wont go into third gear. it lets me go 40 mph with normal idle then when i got 50 -60 it idles like crazy and it wont shift, then i stop turn the car back on its perfect any idea? also when I step on the break the reverse light on the dash turns on,

I notice that this only happens at night, sometimes when im driving it semms like it wont go into third gear. it lets me go 40 mph with normal idle then when i got 50 -60 it idles like crazy and it wont shift, then i stop turn the car back on its perfect any idea? also when I step on the break the reverse light on the dash turns on, am I trippin that it only happens at night? lol?

ur right it takes t2 fluid, now its t4 , called lexus told me its 100 bucks just for the fluid!! lol, so im going to buy it and have my friend do a flush, I hope it fixes the problem, weird that it happens at night,

Make sure the car is running Toyota T4 fluid only. If you or the previous owner had the fluid changed or added non-T4 fluid to top it off, this could cause a problem. Check the transmission fluid and make sure its full by following the instructions in the owners manual (car needs to be running). If that all checks out, take a look at this tutorial about the wiring harness in the trunk that can cause peculiar problems...
