I have searched for this, but the results that came in are over 7 years old and do not really contain that good of information.

Does anyone here use a car cover? I want to get one to keep the frost off my car in the morning so i don't have to keep warming up my car. I think it'd be much easier to whip one on and off. Plus, it'd be good for periods where I don't drive it for a while.

If someone can point me to an affordable car cover or the one you use it'd be much appreciated. (Id just needs to get the job done, It doesn't have to be fancy)

I've used an outdoor car cover for years here in Fl...If you book out first thing in the morning before the sun has a chance to dry the morning dew from the cover, well it's a big sopping mess to go in the trunk..Also a must is to get a cover custom sized for the LS400 model...generics just do not fit well..

I had one that I used at the airport parking lot. It was a generic, and it did not fit well. On my first trip leaving the cover on the car, the temperature inside the cabin was greatly reduced when I returned in the heat of the day. I was really impressed, even with the poor fit. Unfortunately, when I came back from my second trip, it was gone. Sigh...

I've heard its not good for the paint. Constant movement by wind and dirt under it = scrubbing effect.

A nice clean waxed vehicle helps and a quality cover usually would have a softer material having contact with the surface of said vehicle..

Costco has a decent one (I think around $35) but hard to find an XL for the LS (at least in SoCal). And yes car cover would help if your LS is dark. I have a dark green (95) and a black (96) and both show noticeable fade and peel from California sun.

Chances are a generic cover would be a little large so it would flop around and fairly quickly the elastic bands will stretch out and some blusterly wind will blow that sucker right off (especially with an inexpensive cover) I used bungee cords to help with that problem...A custom cover made for the LS400 will run $200-400 depending on the quality of the material and usually comes with a 3-7 year pro-rated warranty (which i took advantage of when the seams started to split)
