accessing codes from tutorial
I dont seem to be getting any response when following the instructions
on the tutorial site. In viewing the videos, it appears the trans should be in Park, not neutral like the instructions say. Which is it? I'm trying to ascertain why my car is using so much gas. ( 15MPG)
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I have already replaced the coolant temp sensor. I'm now getting ready to do the
O2 sensors. Just finished researching the 02 posts on this site. Now trying to decide
whether to go with OEM or generic ones. I'm glad there is a lot of info on this site
on this issue. BTW: Most of my LS driving up to this point has been local in town driving. My Nissan Z's get at least 20+ in town driving- so I am expecting to get some improvement after I eliminate all the bugs. Thanks for all your help!
I am also not getting any warning codes either.

I doubt you would get any codes just for bad MPG which,15, isn't bad to begin with. It's all about your driving style. Remember, you are driving a V8. The best way to get good mileage is to have a lite right foot, something none of us have. With my heavy foot I get 14 MPG and I think that's pretty good for a V8. Changing the o2 sensors will help a little bit but there is soooo many variables that work together. Just think, you can dump thousands into it just to get a couple more MPGs.
