Is there such a thing as aluminum lower body panels to replace the grey plastic on the two-tone lower body First Gen? I sure would like to repaint my First Gen for a lower profile monochrome look, just like every other car.

I guess one solution would be to paint over the plastic, but I've seen some photos of that approach; it is quite obvious that there is still just plastic underneath.

Does such a product exist?

uhh no. if you did it custom, it would be steel. no benefit in aluminum here.

the lower plastic is cladding, and when painted right looks perfectly fine.

the front and rear bumpers are plastic too, remember.

Hmmm. I wonder if anyone would be willing to post a tutorial on this (prepping/painting/which paint/flex agents, etc...) and perhaps photos as well.
