1994 LS400 Phone Controls
I have a 1994 LS400 that the previous owner had removed the phone from. The steering wheel controls are still in place however. Prior to today I hadn't paid any attention to them. When I first bought the car a few years ago I checked the manual, nothing there about a cell phone and pressing buttons didn't make anything happen. They were just a curiosity that I've since ignored.
I had the alternator replaced yesterday and now whenever I put the key in the ignition I get a "beep" through the speakers. I figured out it's coming from the phone system but I have no idea how to stop it. It didn't do this previously.
It's not a major issue but it is irritating that I can't figure out what changed and stop it. Any help would be appreciated.
(Everything I know about this system I learned in these forums today, including there used to be a phone installed. I've searched but haven't been able to find anything addressing this issue.)
