Default unknown part.. coolant leak

hi, i've been checking out my car because ive noticed that it's been running low on red coolant quite often. i know there's a leak but i didn't know where, so i started looking around.

this is the part, circled in green (photo courtesy of lexls.com and pls disregard the red circles)

its on a 93 ls400. i dont know what was leaking, the whole thing or just the washer but i guess when i took the washer out it still didn't stop and i guess it was cracked inside.

anyone knows this part? what it's called?

thanks in advance.

That's the heater control valve.

Yes, it happened to me a couple times with my previous cars.

Yes it's natural, no it's not good. Seeing how that's not your picture, is your valve leaking or the hose conected to it? Check the hose itself b/c they get hot, brittle, crack, and leak. Or ya might just need a new clamp on it.
