Default Leak?

I got into my 91 LS this morning to change my alternator and when I got it out of the car I found it was completely covered in a black sludge of what I can guess is power steering fluid and dirt/road grime. As I can conclude I am leaking power steering fluid somewhere above the alt I am assuming the pump itself is the culprit is there something I may be missing in there that could be something to look at.

Your just right, steering pump above the radiator, get that leak fixed before you put new alt. or its gonna kill ur new alt.
