LS400 1993 CD changer problem.
Well I may have messed up my CD changer, The changer wouldn't open when I pushed the button, had the radio on but not openning. I took the unit out and opened the box and the spring you see in the pictures fell out, took the other piece out thinking it was the spring that wasn't allowing the door to open can't figure out where the spring goes. Has anyone had this problem or know where it goes? The cassette is still in the box.
Thanks for any help you can give.

My 1993 Lexus LS400 had an aftermarket Kenwood radio/CD player in it when I bought the car this past Feb.I decided to switch back to factory radio. It just so happens that my LS400 takes the Nakamichi radio/CD.So I found a good one on the bay.I had it installed this afternoon by an audio installation business with a great reputation. They have been installing radios in vehicles for many years and know what they're doing.I went to pick it up and found out the CD changer was not putting out any audio. It plays the CD's fine, just no audio.I had them recheck it and they said the Nakamichi amp was good and the changer was bad.It also did not change tracks. The radio and cassette work fine. One more thing, the small tweeters in the front doors just inside of the side view mirrors are not working.A previous owner had chopped up one harness behind the radio when the Kenwood was installed. But the audio shop says they repaired that problem.Does anyone have any input on the changer not putting out any audio and it not changing tracks, and no output from the tweeters? Thanks for any advice.

It sounds like the CD changer is bad, they dont last forever. IIRC the tweeter just runs off the door speaker, not from behind the radio.
