Default Coolant overflow resevoir/coolant level sensor swap

Has anyone done this? My 1990 LS has an irretrievable broken coolant level sensor lodged somewhere in the coolant overflow reservoir. I'm planning on pulling the reservoir+sensor from a 1993 LS but I have a few questions:

1) What should I pull before pulling the tank/sensor?

2) Does anyone know if the sensor from 1993's is compatible with 1990's? I'm not too worried about the tank fitting because there will probably be a way.

i've never had a problem with the water pump.

Yeah I was kinda hoping that if I had questions about a car I just bought that I could just post some questions on a forum and get them answered. Thanks for your help though!

I am fairly sure this is going to be a common Toyota part. (anyone have a #?)
Mine is starting to go & currently emits an intermittent false signal. 94 LS

Don't think they are all the same. For example, the part number database I use shows the "switch assembly, level warning" is part number 85335-50010 for the 90 LS400 and part number 16485-50012 for the 94 LS400.

Bought my '93 LS in March 2010 with the light constantly illuminated. Took it to Toyota for their opinion and they snipped the wires. That fixed the light

Oh well its just a level sensor on an older car I can live without it

Level sensor should be same up at least to 1995 LS 400s.
