92 LS400 DRIVING ALONG WHEN BOTH THE TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER WENT DEAD. NO PROBLEMS WITH CLUSTER (TILL NOW) wHAT DO i CHECK FIRST...and maybe 2nd?

Hit the top of the dash a few times and see if it works. I have to do that to mine sometimes.

Check ebay, I got a new cluster for 50 dollars that worked great. Actually I have one that is in better shape than yours. The tack stopped working, but the speedometer still works. Its about the easiest job in the world to replace the instrument cluster in 90 -94 Lexus LS 400's. There is a company on ebay that re manufactures your old one too. Check it out, and if you pay for shipping I will send you my old one for free. I think it reads about 200,000 miles

only problem with this is that your car will be classified as Not Actual Mileage when you reregister it every year, which could severely damage it's resale value.
