Default I replaced the rear struts on my 91

Hey All

Well I finally got my car back from the shop. I had the two rear sturts replaced and what a difference.

My front struts were replaced be the previous owner at 105k but my car now has 114k and still on the original rear ones. My car use to have a very floaty ride and bounce slowly over big bumps. It was still smooth but just way to soft. On the highyway I really didnt feel to confident going or 80 or so because any bump would send me bouncing. Now mind you the car was not boncing all over the road or anything. Most of my freinds thought I was nuts for doing this but then none of them have luxurys cars so they dont know what they are talking about.

Well now the car ride much more steady and secure to the road. The floaty feel is all but gone. Its still a big car with a big car ride but the float and bounce is gone. One the highway the car feel sure footed and safe. I just took it for a ride and 110mph felt like nothing. The ride is also much better over small pumps just absorbing them that much better.

My goal is to keep the car as stock performing as possible, so I wanted a smooth quit ride. I choose standard Monroe struts from my local shop.

Pep Boys quoted me $215 instaled and my shop Tire Kingdom quoted me $119. Bith were the same Monroe struts so I went with Tire Kingdom. On the day of the install they discovered they misquoted me and the struts supposidly cost them $119. So anyways they sold them to me for cost and installed them at their normal hourly rate of $65 per hour.

So each strut cost me $184 installed.

I would say an excelent return on investment!

Jerry

Were the struts $119 each or for a pair?
