Default I replaced my Strut Rod Bushings on my 97

I took the struts Landar gave me, put new bushings in them, and had my nephew put them on my 97.... nice and quite now, one was ok, but one had a tear in it, and I was getting a thud on bumps.
The best price I could find was at Park Place.... $41. each

!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered them at Lexus of Pembroke Pines, and was called and told that my order was cancelled because the bushings themselves were no longer available.

!!!!!!!!

So you got the bushings themselves, without the arms?

How can this be?

I am flabbergasted!

order them by number 48674-40051 list 49.33 net 41.93

yes Landar gave me his old arms, I pressed the old bushings out, got the new bushing started by putting the arm & bushing in a vise, and used the press to finish seating it. piece of cake...
but R&R the arms was tough, my 97 has 248K on it and these bushings looked OEM. but to my surprise it has KYB struts on it (goody goody) and that is why it handles so good.
I will keep my old ones, put new bushings in them and keep them for my 99.

Funny thing is,, I too was trying to order mine from them for my first gen, was gonna order the entire new arm since it would be easier on the install this way, and they told me 2 things.

1. The new strut rod would NOT come with a bushing at all,,just the rod. Found this kind of odd since everything I have ever read said that it would.,,
2. I could order the bushings individually but they were,,,,,wait for it,,,,coming to it,,,,,,ok,,,,,,$180 EACH!!!!

I know I was boen in the morning,, but that morning was just not the right one!!

Anyone who can help me with a part number for them on a first gen,,, the help would be most appreciated.

@trukn1, 48674 is common leading number but 50010 is for the first gen so 48674-50010 is what you're looking for.

I think the price difference between gen1 and gen2 is because of the design differences in the strut bar itself and that the cushion in the gen1 is more of an assembly.

you may be closer to the right price but I bought mine about a year ago and they were offering 10%..i was going for a firmer set up....factory is good for a cushion ride. You still got a good deal...at least the stealership didnt rip you

AzHot,, thanks for the info,,this is a VERY painful price to have to pay for what seems like a little bushing, but I guess it is more of an assembly. I used that number to look up the price at pembroke Pines and it says that it was superceeded by part number 48674-50030,, and it still isnt any less painful. LOL!! I thought I would post the new part number here, especially for us first gen peeps who may have to replace this, such as myself. I REALLY appreciate your help.

**sighing,,, that 05+ LS430 gets more and more attractive and this first gen ages.**

I used: mybushings.com: (94-00) LS 400 Front Strut Rod Bushing (10/94-8/00) ADUS #531 Fits:
(94-00) LS 400 Front Strut Rod - Right (10/94-8/00) OEM:4866040021
(94-00) LS 400 Front Strut Rod - Left (10/94-8/00) OEM:4867040011
Polyurethane bushings are stronger and do not deteriorate and will not break down, as will the rubber bushings... these are for my 99

I have not put them on yet, but they better be. I just thought they would last longer.... never thought about sound.
