'99 LS400 AC Control Panel problems
AC works great in that it blows cold, etc.....but
The dashboard control panel...I'm experiencing the following problems:
>D side and P side temp control adjusters---you can push the ^ arrow and the temp setting will go higher...but....press the down arrow on each side and no response.
>Fan Speed button...does nothing...press it to adjust fan speed and no response
>"Off" button....press it and nothing happens..everything stays on.
Ended up disconnecting the battery a couple times yesterday after I had pressed the D side temp control button up and it got stuck on "Max-Hot".
Let the car sit for a half hour or so, hooked up both battery terminals and turned the car on...pretty much a blank panel and no ac blowing.
Drove it around for awhile and the AC came back on (with both D and P side set at 75 degrees)....but still having same problems discussed above...no ab ability to reduce temp, no fan speed control and the "OFF" button doesn't do a thing.
Any ideas?? Thanks very much.

dont remember if this would work for you, probably wont.
http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/air/accodes.html
if/when it doesnt, search the 2GS forum for AC Trouble Code then do it again.
if no codes from either method, the CC unit may be broken, a relatively cheap and easy fix for a used unit.

Thanks. Dealer says the control panel/module is shot.
Couple more questions:
1) Any suggestions on a good source for a new one, reman, etc?
2)R & R--console have to come out? etc to access it. Can't see anything on the face of the panel that indicates easy removal by just popping it out. I can do this but just trying to get an idea of what all is involved?
Thanks very much.
