Default exhaust work

Well towed the car to my friends shop in LA. Rene Motor Sports.
He is doing a costume 3 1/2 down pipe to a dual 3inch HKS exhaust.

Cool swap, but why would you put in a 6 cylinder? Everyone knows a V8 is more powerful than a 6 cylinder.

J/K!

I would love to do this. Turbos and automatic trannys are the best! No turbo lag between shifts which can be an issue with large singles. Do you have any idea on what the weight difference is? I might think you would save a few lbs with the I6, but it is an iron block and the turbo weight is a factor as well. As far as rear gear ratio, I actually prefer a tallish ratio with turbo power. You'll have trouble enough with wheel spin in low gears on street tires as it is. The stall of the converter will be a bigger factor IMO.

for the record, the 1uz complete w/o trans is ~450lbs, the 2jz-gte complete w/o trans is ~590lbs...

That's a decent weight savings. A single large frame turbo would be lighter than the stock twins ta boot! Even if you use a stock 2jz, with simple BPU mods you could make upwards of 400whp. Wonder if it would be easier to run the Supra ECU and just modify the harness. Is the Supra fuel pump a drop-in affair?

you got it backwards there buddy, by swapping to the 2JZ the car becomes even more front-heavy. you have to offset that as much as possible with more power.
