all LS400s (with coil suspension at least) lean to the driver's side by up to 3/4-1".

The cholo lean is standard on all LS400s.

Yes, my car also lists badly to port. I just changed my rear struts and strut cushions and that helped - i guess extra weight on the driver side has uneven wear effects on the rubber cushions under the strut mounts.

its said to be due to the battery being so far lateral to the midline of the car. take it out and the car levels out a good bit.

when you say strut cushion are you talking about the strut mount that is at the top of the strut ?

On the rear shocks (I don't remember the front) there is an accordion shaped piece that serves as a dust boot. The top of the accordion is a thick rubber pad that serves as the interface between the spring and the strut mount. That rubber pad compresses with time.
