I have a 2002 LS 430...I want to install XM radio using an fm modulator as that appears to be the best solution...Installer must connect to tuner part of stereo system...

I understand the tuner/amp is somewhere in the trunk....Where exactly...what panel do I pull to locate it ??? Is it located in the same place on std systems AND Levinson systems ??

Has anyone seen a Blitzsafe interface for Lexus LS430 ??

Assuming that it's the same as for an '01, it's located immediately forward of the NAV computer on the right side of the trunk floor.

The tuner is a small module, separate from the amplifier.

Does anyone know if there's an AUX input on the '01 LS430 systems with NAV? I would like to add an MP3 player to the system...thx!

There is not. I am using a cassette adapter, but I have the output lead of the adapter running inside of the radio housing so that it's completely invisible. (Also prevents inadvertent ejection of the adapter!). I am sacrificing the ability to play cassettes but I can live with that.

This wire runs through a "closed circuit" headphone jack that is mounted inside of the console compartment (next to the shifter) and from there to my XM radio. So with nothing plugged in, I get XM radio on the TAPE source, and if I plug in a portable MP3 player it cuts out the XM and switches to MP3.

The quality is actually quite good.
