front clunk.. wheel hitting steering?

front clunk.. wheel hitting steering?
ok so i took off crappy coilovers and put factory wheels, tires and shocks back on my 90 ls and now the factory wheels hit the steering knuckle? on the bottom of each front wheel... what could be the cause? been fixxing someones ricer dreamcar back to stock... any help would be great....and its factory 15 inch rims

ok i try to get some soon.. i took off the crappy coilovers previous owner put on.. some ebay sleeves and springs... its hitting on the tie rod end? on the factory wheels its hittng the inside of the rim..factory wheels have little bumps? i guess you call them.. i take a pic tonight of what the problem is...does it while tuning and car wont move.. doesnt do it while going straight....please help im running spacers so it doesnt hit..

Sounds like there are either the wrong lower ball joints, wrong tie rod ends, or the tie rod ends were in installed upside down where they link to the ball joint arm? Wierd...

Take a pic of brake caliper as well. Someone may have tried to do the later model brake conversion in which case some of the suspension components had to be changed. If this is the case, the factory wheels didnt clear. If you brake caliper is relatively large(front side), then PO did the brake conversion and you will have to put it back to original equip.

I can't say for sure, but the squared off shape of the lower tie rod end in your picture may indicate an aftermarket tie rod that's causing the problem. I believe it should have a slight taper in at the bottom... Unfortunately I threw out my old OEM ones and now I'm running 17's or I'd take a picture of the original. Just that small difference would fix the clearance problem though. I'd also pull the cotter pin on the tie rod end and make sure the bolt is tight up into the taper.
