Default Is this a timing or a starter issue? please help

I have a 1991 LS400 with 100K original miles, I bought it with minimal records.
The problem is the way the car starts! Sometimes it starts like a bew car abd other times it starts like it is out of timing!
The car runs and idles great

Any ideas????

Thank you
Nino
