Question repair manual

Does anyone know where I can get a service/repair manual for my 91 LS 400. I just bought the car, has 200,000 miles, looks and runs great. I want to replace the leaky power steering pump and the power antenna and start doing some preventive maintenance. I have searched on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and done a Google search - no luck. Used is fine.

Thanks,

Rich

Default repair manuals

i bought one for my LS on ebay. it was two volumes containing all the necessary information and steps for repairing everything in the car. i bought a part sheet for like $5 extra. the manuals cost like $100 or so for both of them. It is worth it. i just go to my regular mechanic and hand him the manuals in case there are any manufacturer-specific things he should look for. saves a bundle on labor from the dealer.

Default steering pump

hey Rich, I had the same problem with my 1990 LS400 and couldn't find a manual cheap. So i went to my local library and copied off repair procedures from the reference books they had. I bought the gasket kit from dealer part # 04446-30173 and replaced only a few O-rings and leak completley stopped. The dealer gave me a scematic of the pump that really helped Good luck.

Thanks for the libray idea, Jasonnich!

I have an appointment Friday to have an independent garage do the work for me. They were highly recommended. The owner is a former Lexus mechanic. He went over the whole car with me and told me everything he found (wasn't much, thankfully!). I will still go to my library and see if they have the manuals. I want to do some more work, like replacing the schocks.

Enjoy your Lex! I know I do.

I ordered a manual for my 96 (looks like a phone book!) from

www.irontoad.com

It took a while to ship but he quoted me the cheapest price I could find (I think around $130).
