Default LS 400 questions

OK, I changed the oil a couple of days ago. The next day when I started the car, the engine light and the trac light was on. I had to disconnect the battery in order to clear the computer. I did the oil myself. I did not touch anything and certainly there is no leak at all. Do I have to clear the computer every time I am doing some sort of work on the car? Also, does anyone know if there is a computer (affordable) that I can buy so I can read the codes of the engine? And as last, I will replace the brake rotors in the near future and I want to install cross drilled. Does anyone have any good recommendations? '92 LS 400. Thanks.

Default NO YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO

I change my oil all the time , 91 LS and never have a problem.
There's a sequence to get the engine codes , but I'll have to look
to find it or if someone have a manual they can help you out ?

There's a web site also to order cross drilled slotted rotor's but again I'll have to look for it I think they were 120 ea.
You can e-mail me if you like.

Yes, there is one called a paper clip. A small jumper wire is also fine too. Jump T & E1 on the diagnostic connector and you're good to go. Do a search on engine code and you'll fine more details.
