Default LS 400 Electronis Problems/Starting problems

I have a 93 LS with 262,000 miles & still runs great. I do have a problem & hope someone may be able to help. From time to time, it will fail to start, even though it turns over, has fuel, ect. I took it a Japanese Specialist, who, after 2 weeks, told me he couldn't find the problem. It may start 20 times in a day, then just won't start the next time. Sometimes I can go back within minutes & it will start, sometimes it won't for days. ( No real pattern ). The mechanic said he THINKS it is in the Anti-Theft system. HELP!! anyone had this or similar problem?

Need more info. When it fails to start, is it a single click? How old is the battery?

In this order:
Check the battery terminals. Make sure they are clean and tight, plus free of any deposits.

While starting the car, check the drawing amps that the starter is pulling from the battery. You'd be surprised.

Finally, check your battery to see how much power the alternator is supplying while the car is running.

At 226,xxx my 93 LS400 does this too. I found out that it's the parking sensor, the problem is intermittent yes? have you tried to start the car while it is in neutral? this works for me every time, and it will have to do until i get it checked out further

hope this helps

I've tried that also. The motor turns over properly, it's not the battery, starter, etc. all this is fine. When yours failed to start in Park, did the motor turn over or did the parking switch keep it from turning over? It seems to be something is killing the spark & fuel, like when the anti theft system disables the car. Thanks for the input

It turns over normally, just getting no spark or fuel. Battery is fine, will crank the car for several minutes, just will not start. Then without me doing anything, it will start on the next try. I'm not sure what all the mechanic tried, but it stumpted him & he specializes in Japanese cars & has good reputation. Thanks for any help

I had similar problem (no on LS), car always start anytime when engine is ambient temp, but hard to start when it's warmed up (for instance, you parked and turned off car to go into post office for 10 min, engine still warm, and now trying to start). Did all the diagnostics but no answers. On a whim I checked the fuel injectors and turned out some actually became susceptible to thermal expansion (heat), and became clogged when warm. Replaced injectors and problems went away.

you are right it didn't turn over because of the switch.
