Anyone previously owned an Acura Legend ???
Does any of you own Acura Legend before? I have Legend GS, and I am thinking of selling it and getting LS 400. I love the look, and the drive of Legend. It's harder and harder to find clean Legend, but I can still find quite a lot of nice clean LS 400 out there.
I know that this is Lexus site, so I understand that I am going to get biased answer. That's ok as long as it make sense.
???
Please tell me sell my Legend and buy LS 400.

do you know how rare a KA7 GS is? I dont know the condition of your Legend, but I would keep it. They are beautiful cars. My g/f had a slammed 92 Legend as a daily driver and it had 220k miles, still running strong but sold it b/c we were worried with the high miles...there was nothing wrong though. I usually dont like FF cars, but those longitudinally mounted engine FFs didnt bother me at all.

I had 3 Acura Legend Coupes. A 91 L, a 93 LS with 6-Speed manual, and a 95 LS with automatic. They are great cars and in fact I choose them over the Lexus SC400 originally. I later did end up with an SC400, but I sold it after a year of ownership. Anyway, I recently picked up a 99 LS400 and it is hard to compare since it is a much newer sedan vs my coupes I had, plus I had the 6-Speed manual. Features wise they have a lot more luxury items like motorized headrests and such, and the ride in stock form is a lot more cushy. Some will call it smooth, some will call it floaty, whatever. The Legend stock suspension is more sporty than the LS. For me personally I'd still take a Legend GS over a 90-94 LS, but the 2nd gen 95+ I'd probably take the LS. 98+ no question I'd take the LS. The Legend is just getting too old already being it was introduced in 1990 as a 91 model. Too much technology advancement since then. For some the age may not be a major factor, but for me, I'd choose the 98+ LS.

I wanted a KA7 6MT so badly when i was 16 (like 8 years ago...damn im getting old), but I could NOT find one at all. I still to this day regret not owning a KA7/8 Legend and Id love to buy one today if my wallet would allow me. But if you think about the maintenance cost and whatnot, it worries me to invest in a 15+ year old car. But if you already have a Legend GS, then I'd keep it as a dd if its not in bad condition.

I still have my first legend(my first car), i love it but i haven't treated it well the last few years.
I wouldn't sell the GS to get a pre95 LS400. The legend has a special spot in my corny heart lol.

I love the styling of the legends, but after driving both I have to say Id go with the 98+ LS. The legend was a awesome car, but for a 17+ year platform it cant compete with the new models. The only thing that you might see as a flaw in the newer LS's as said before is the floaty ride, in stock form the ride is very mushy.... you cant really throw it around any corners... other than that I love my LS and would go with that anyday of the week!

Thanks all....
So what I heard so far from this thread is that... Keep my Legend, and only replace with 98+ LS. I can't afford 98+ yet, so I think I should keep my Legend for now.

Well, I think the jist of it, or at least from my point of view is if you can obtain a 98+ LS I would make the switch and buy the LS. I wouldn't personally swap the Legend GS out for the 90-94 LS, but that is my personal opinion. However, a 95+ LS makes it a much tougher choice. Those are the 2nd gen UCF20/21 and there are a lot of improvements which makes it a better over all car than the 95 Legend IMHO, aside from the driving dynamics and road feel. For a 95-97, if I found an LS in better over all shape with less or equal miles than the Legend, I'd make the change. I still probably wouldn't make the change if that said LS had much higher miles and wasn't in good shape though. So I guess you just need to see the car for yourself and judge if it is worth making the change or not.

I just went out and test drove my Legend again. Wow... What a nice ride... I was smiling all the time while driving town....
I will wait for 98+ LS to become cheaper. hmmmm But, I also like 2nd Gen GS 300/400, IS 300, LX 470... dang...Too many wants in this life.
