So when i count everything you guys came between 20-25 mpg average but when your paying up to $7,- per gallon it's not very friendly for you wallet to drive a LS400 as a daily driver.

MY last trip that I'd say was 85% Hwy 15% city was 30.3 MPG... don't ask me how that happened haha

Now I just need to do a 100% Hwy trip!

Default Is my mpg right on?

Is my mpg right on? All hwy i got 466 miles to the tank and it went past the E mark. The computer said it was like 25.3mpg. That was doing any where from 75mph to 95mph. Seem ok? What size is the tank on the 99? Ive heard 22.5 or 21.9....

Thats about right for all hwy.

Tank Size: 22.5 Gallons
Miles Per Gallon: EPA 19 city & 25 highway

i have a 90 and with my last 4 tanks with a mix of city and hwy i had;
24
23
20
22.5

I happy with a V8 pulling those numbers.

Before i had my exhaust done i was pulling 24ish on the Hw at 75 and about 19 in town, after i had the 3rd cat and the y-pipe redone i am now getting 28-29hw and 24 in town.

I am extremely pleased with these numbers compared to what they were.

the reason for the good gas mileage is arodynamics.

From wikepedia

Extensive modeling and wind tunnel tests resulted in a low drag coefficient for a conventional production vehicle of the time (Cd 0.29).

There are two y-pipes in the exhaust system. Which one did you have replaced? And by redone, do you mean you removed the 3rd cat?

Ur milelage sounds about right....pretty much the same I get.
The low drag really helps....funny how the car really doesn't look that aerodynamic and has low drag coefficient similar to C6 Corvette (0.28)

damn how do u guys get that high mpg. on a trip to six flags in jersey and back in my 94 i got 18mpg and thats the highest iv every gotten. on average i get around 14mpg with about half highway/city. but i do drive on the aggressive side tho lol. anything else to maintain other than spark plugs, air filter, oil? ohh idk if this would help but i did a muffler delete on the car also.

sry to thread jack and i feel like this has been covered b4 already lol
