Sorry to hear about your misfortune. That is why I got rid of my VW Jetta. I feel much more safe knowing my wife and I drive one of the safest cars on the road. Hope your Arnott's were not damaged. Best of luck in your decision, and I'm glad your o.k. Second trukn1's, "although we do get attached to our cars, they can be replaced".

Thanks guys...! The insurance adjuster is supposed to be coming to my house tomorrow so I'll know soon what they plan to do.

Let us know what they're giving you. From what I've heard, insurance adjusters have been veryyyy generous with LS4s...

The insurance adjuster showed up today. They're going to fix the car. Around $3k in damage.

Since its in exceptional condition, he told me to take the car to an independent appraiser to get the true value of the vehicle documented and supply the appraisers information to my insurance company. That way if something were to happen in the future, I won't lose out.

That is nice to hear. It pays to take good care of a car or any property.

Personally, I'd rather have my car totaled if it ever got in an accident. Even when it's fixed, it just doesn't drive quite the same.

Hi,

The LS went in the shop this past Tuesday to be repaired. The car drives great even after the accident, so I don't have any reservations about how its going to drive after its fixed. I might get it back in another week or so. I went by to check on its progress today and they had it up on the frame straightening machine. They think there's a slight chance that the quarter panel damage will completely come out when they pull it, and in this case they wouldn't have to repaint the quarter panel, but they're not overly optimistic about this. Now that the bumper is off, they're waiting for the adjuster to come back for a supplement.

I know what you mean about a car not driving the same after its been hit, but that definitely depends on the type of damage. I was hit before in a new Saab 9000 turbo on the drivers door and B pillar. The car was never the same. The door never again closed like it should.

I trust the two guys (brothers) to no end who are working on the car. I've known them since they started in business 30 years ago. They're impressed by the overall condition of the car as well. This is an easy fix for them...

Thanks ~ Jim
