Default 2000 LS front end compatible with 93?

I did some searching and found the 98-2000 front end will bolt up directly to the 95-97 chassis.Does anyone know if it will bolt up on a 1993 model? Not worried about cost new.I can source the parts used fairly cheap. If anyone can confirm the compatibility that would be great. Thanks,

I saw that reply coming, truth is I wont spend near as much.I have a very reliable shop that can do it for a good price. They have done conversions for my friends when that stuff was in.Just figured if it was bolt on,I would save them some trouble.

If you are just looking for decent headlights, buy a set of Eagle Eyes headlights on eBay from sabersport -- they are about $225 for a complete set and are plug and play on a 93-94 LS400. A 93 LS isn't going to have the infrastructure, such as the front and rear suspension sensors and their cabling, to support 98-00 HID headlights if HID is what you are looking for.

I used to go out in the garage, get out my measuring tape and marvel at how different my gen 1 1990 LS400 was from my 2000 LS400 -- shown in the attached photo. The proportions of the various body panels and glass pieces on the two cars were very different -- sometimes by inches.

Show us some pics if you proceed and get this project done. Where there's a will, there's a way.

+1 for the eagle eye headlights, but do a projector retrofit to em also

the anount of work that would be needed to just make the 98-00 Ls headlights to fit would be almost if not more than wat the car is worth

If you don't mind high mileage, you can get a 98 for pretty cheap. I might sell mine just so I can get me a LS430. But, yeah, the only different between 2.5LS and 2LS is the front end. I'm pretty sure you can do that conversion with minimal problem. And if your front end is now damage and you have to buy all the parts, might well use the newer ones, right? Not a lot of people wouldn't, but I would. It'll be just like people doing 2000 front end swap on pretty much all the civics, crx's, del sols and integras.

Thanks for the pic,it looks even easier to do now.

Sorry guys but I have been around bodywork for good while now due to my friends @ a local bodyshop.I have seen civic tail lights go to IS300 ones then years later to Mercedes, etc, etc.Just give me some time to collect the parts and I will start a build thread with costs of everything. In the meantime call me a noob or whatever else with big dreams.

there's a BIG difference between the 95-97 and 98-00. much more than just the front (and rear end) differences.

Yeah but you end up being the only one who would want a mutant creation of a car, so resale goes down dramatically.

"Bodywork" in the form of bondo and fiberglass creations usually ends up in something that looks unique, but just not quite right.

I understand why most people would jump out with a "Hell no" and similiar answer. I would too if I have a perfect condtion Lexus, regardless of the year. But, like I said, if your front end needs replaced, and you like the 98-00 headlights, go for it. Either way, you'll be spending almost the same amount of money to either replacing it with stock parts or with the newer ones.

Any car that did this conversion looked deformed because the 95 and up has a taller hood line to match the height of the headlights . Their are mods that make sense and then ? If you can't afford a 98 and up then wait until you can , don't butcher up a car just because . Smaller headlights in the same area like civic to lexus ones could work but larger ones don't .
