Default UCF20 LS400 Antennas (95-97)

Why are they so damn long? Do they sell a kit that deletes it or an antenna that is shorter?

Those flexible rubber things.

I'm with Dranom if you have the $. The 1980 Celica had an in-glass antenna. Why Toyota goes back-forth on radio antennas is

That is a great idea! Does it mess with reception?

I think the previous owner disengaged mine so it's always down. It still gets good reception while down with my aftermarket stereo.

The little while that I drove mine. The antenna made a real loud noise, like if the motor was working to push it out but I guess the antenna is stuck in place. Is there a fuse to turn that off or do I have to deal with it? Thanks again I have a 95 LS400

Probably stripped some teeth or snapped the plastic which extends the mast. Very common problem with the stock ones. There should be a plug right on the bottom of the antenna assembly in the trunk. Mine is broke, I just pull it up by hand. (old school)
