Stock tire decision
Need to replace Dunlop SP 5000's that came on my 98 LS, and would like to improve cornering without going to larger tires or compromising ride/noise. Given that I was ok with the ride/noise of the SP 5000's, Tire Rack is recommending the Yoko Avid V4S (although for the benefit of anyone reading this in a couple of months, they are also high on the Conti ExtremeContact DWS; just not available yet in 225/60-16). Reading posts here and elsewhere, the V4S seems like decent value, but can be noisey, especially as it wears. On other sedans, ('92 Legend, '73 MBZ 300SEL) I've always had good luck with Michelin MXV4s in their earlier iterations, and found that the handling was fine and long wear justified the price. Does anyone have experience to compare the MXV4 with the V4S in terms of noise/handling tradeoffs?

Haven't seen much about the YK520 (or anything close to that numbering), but I'll look into it. Father-in-law's 98 LS w/ fairly new Turanzas felt pretty good tonight, but anything is probably better than my bald Dunlops.
