Default Broken Front Wheel Stud 98 LS

I was changing my front pads and rotors this weekend. When tightening the nut on the stud, the stud broke.

I picked up a new stud and nut today. How hard is it to replace this stud on the front wheel?

I did a search but couldn't find any DIYs on how to do this.

Hey, sorry I didn't chime in sooner. It isn't that hard. You will need to remove, tire, caliper, and rotor. I am sorry that I don't have any pictures, and I could sit here and write up a DIY, but this is just as effective. Once you get the hub flange bare, where the wheel studs are exposed, rotate the flange around until you can pound the wheel stud out the back side of the hub. If this doesn't make sense, click on the links, one is a DIY the other is the theory of what you are doing, just on the vehicle....

Toyota T-100, same idea, he just has drum brakes, the disk brake is a little different, but still easy enough with the right tools and knowledge.

A Local guy, Doug Rippie Motorsports, this is for a ZR1 corvette, but the idea would be similar, also you DON'T have to remove the wheel bearing from the vehicle.

Here is a verbal and video idea of what your trying to do.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, doesn't sound too hard. I'll give it a shot.
