Default Couple problems with my 92 ls 400

Hello. i have a couple problems and am looking for a solution
I have a 92 ls400 with 195k on it

1. engine heat is coming in through the vents. when i speed up it come out faster and when i slow it down it comes out slower.
2. my cigarette lighter fuse was blown, so i replaced it, then right when i put my cellphone charger in it... it blew out again.

i was wondering what would cause these and about how much im looking at to get them fixed.

Thanks

1. Probably has to do with your alternator. It's a common condition with these cars for the alternator to drop a small amount of power at idle. For instance in my car, with a brand new alternator, when I accelerate from idle I notice my headlights get brighter and my HVAC fans speed up. Similarly when I slow down from cruise to idle, my headlights get dimmer and my HVAC fans slow down. The difference is very subtle, but it's there. IMHO it's nothing to worry about and if you do a search I think that you will find many others with the same condition.

2. You are blowing fuses because you have a short in the circuit that's allowing current to flow directly to ground. Find the short, fix it, and you should have no more issues.

had the same problem with my '93
my alternator went out, got a new one and the problem stopped
or, it could just be youre a/c and heating system cuz those things hav a mind of their own in these cars

pertaining to the cig lighter. unplug your charger. replace the fuse. if it blows before the charger is plugged in then its faulty wirin and/or a bad female cig receptackle.
if it only blows fuses after u plug your charger in.. then the charger is to blame. try something else in the socket, like a different phone charger.

if u need to rewire the system but dont want to pay for it.. an easy fix is to run wires from the back of your stereo to feed that socket. if u wanna do it right go to the back of the fuse block and tap that same fuse. dont forget your DMM (dont use a test light).
