Default Need help with suspension question

Hello all,

The joint in the attached pic (circled) is loose and I think just plain worn. What is this piece called (wishbone?), and is there a bushing in the joint or do I need a new part? Is it simple enough to change?

I noticed it just now when changing the front rotors (which you can see there nice and shiny - they are from R1Concepts, let's hope they are worth the money.)

Thanks

-Dean

The circled part is the upper ball joint. It is part of the upper control arm; the V-shaped part attatched to it. It cannot be changed separately; has to be done as the entire unit.

if that upper ball joint is bad, you need an entire new upper control arm, list is ~$300/side from lexus. best to replace in pairs.

Thank you both. I just ordered one (d/s, $130, there are a few to choose from on ebay).

Cheers,

-Dean

ps this one is pretty shot - is there some danger if this thing pops while driving or cornering?
