Recently Bought a 1992 and a 1993 LS400. The 92 is being used to replaced damaged parts on the 93's front end when it was in a small collision. I have the 93's front face stripped awaiting for the arrival of the 92 next week. I actually drove the 93 home so I could work on it. I have read the many threads about the Cluster needles and Flickering problems. My problem is a little different. My cluster flickers but I already have a repaired cluster to go in when I get around to it. My other problem is the Climate control LCD (Which works fine and is not dark at all) and the Radio LCD back light when you turn the light switch on. They both go Out totally. The readout is still there just no Back light. I figured since they Both are doing that it must be common to something like a relay or switch...whatever makes the Illumination go dim. It works fine when the lights are off, both displays are Back lit, its only when you turn the light switch on and they attempt to go dim but instead go completely out. Anyone ever had this problem or have a solution?

Is the dimmer control switch to the left of the steering wheel and just below the instrument cluster turned way down by chance?

Turning that had no effect CW or CCW. Possibly the dimmer switch itself? It only fades the instrument cluster from what i could see.
