Default LS 400 Envy

Hi all,

I have joined this board before even buying a LS 400. I currently have a 1996Acura 3.5 RL which is a great car, but it just doesn't have the prestige of the Lexus.

I keep my eyes open for good deals, but it seems a decent used LS is hard to find here in the midwest.

Is it generally accepted that a 1998-2000 is the year to get?

In answer to your original question, the 98-2000 is generally accepted as bing the best LS produced to date in terms of comfort/engineering/styling/bells and whistles/ etc. Truth be told, you really can't go wrong with ANY of the LS models. Alot of the olders ones may need a little work to maintain, but they all still hold their styling up against many cars today.

Welcome to CL, your LS is beautiful and will give you years of great service. The first generation was superb, with the tightest of QC that Lexus ever offered.

That's what I've heard too, and my dad has a '97 LS400, and I have a '98, and we can both tell a difference, with the '98 being a tad more refined and smooth.
