Angry Squeaks and squeals :(

Well, my 93 LS400 has the following noises:

1. Steering wheel makes a mouse squeak when being turned (about 70% of the time).

2. Sunroof rubber seal makes a rubbing/squeaking noise when driving. I think it's the seal rubbing against the metal of the roof. Dry rubber perhaps?

3. Brakes squeal when coming to an almost complete stop

4. Clunking/grinding noise when making a right turn (intermittent).

5. Excessive sunroof/roof wind noise at 70+mph.

Any of you guys experiencing similar problems? Besides these minor things, the car has been great and I love it.
93 LS400, 82k miles.

Anton

90 LS 133k miles

Excessive wind noise from passenger side front window (50mph+(

Rattle in 'T' pillar section of drivers side. Right by my head! annoying!

Rattle in plastic units where the dome lights and sunroof buttons are.

Random occasional rattles elsewhere..

1. Both of my LS's have small amount of sunroof wind noise when the sunroof shade is opened. There is a service bulletin on aligning the sunroof to reduce wind noise but I haven't tried it yet.
2. 3 of 4 Lexus' sitting on my property squealed when near a complete stop. I fixed the squeal but after a few months, the squeal returned so I learned to live with it instead.
3. The only squeak I hear is when I placed articles on the leather seats or when the articles rub against the body panels.

Other than that I am very satisfied.

If your steering wheel makes noise check the power steering fluid, most of the time it is empty and check whether your power steering compartment is leaking, it is very common for the LSs.

Sunroof what I have no ideas about but the Brakes squeal when coming to an almost complete stop is possible your brake have a lot of dust in it, it happens with my LS as well as my other cars (non Lexus) so it is very common.

I have that steering wheel problem also, sometimes when I turn it I feel like something inside is screeching

I also have the wind noises when I drive over 50 miles

my brakes also squeak, and after many times I have tried Brake Silencer... they don't work... maybe my rotors are messed up?

Also, my cars tend to ping and knock, but I ALWAYS use premium enleaded gasoline as suugested in the owners manual

If your car is making a metallic sound when turning, especially turning at higher speeds, get your brakes checked for wear. if it is the brakes, it's something to do with the pads wearing out and the pressure in the brake fluid cylinder. just a simple check, thats all
